I have deleted over a 1000 pins from my Pinterest page! That's just the beginning for me. I have only been through my recipe pages. In the past, I've randomly pinned recipes that sounded good to me, without taking into consideration that my dear husband most likely wouldn't touch some of the dishes with a ten foot pole, or that the prep time was 90 minutes, or there was some weird spice that I probably would never use again and costs $300 an ounce.
I've also tried quite a few recipes. Most were determined so-so by husband. Why spend an hour prepping and cooking a special chicken dish that is not enjoyed, when you could grab a couple of thighs, rub them with olive oil, salt and pepper, and toss them in the oven for 30 minutes and get rave reviews?
Here are a few of my "keeper" recipes:
Perfect Pot Roast by Stone Gable Blog - I used a buffalo roast and it was sooooooo tasty!
Bayou Bar from Joyful Momma's Kitchen - These were so good that husband and I agreed I shouldn't make them very often. We have no self control when it comes to sweets!
I have 399 recipes currently pinned to try; 155 that I have tried and kept, but of those 155, only 41 are labelled "Family Favorites".
Next up, I will be going through all the arts and crafts pins, all the travel pins, and all those helpful hints pins.
Did you know when you do major decluttering in your home, often you see concomitant weight loss. I wonder if them same is true with Pinterest. Stay tuned!
